Ladies and Gentlefurs it is my great pleasure to announce DiFFur 2009.
For those in the Proverbial dark let me explain; DiFFur (Dubbo [NSW] in February Furmeet) is a meet that I pulled together last year to get some NSW furs together, visit the zoo, and generally hang out. The reception was great and actually pulled a fur or two out of the works in dubbo, and with the growth and awareness of the fandom has vastly expanded in the last year or so, with the first Australian convention and all, I thought i should make this little shindig annual.
Thus i give you DiFFur 2009; With more organised events, and hopefully more attendees [confirmed including Chris "Kraden" McKenna and Arctic Pete as well as a myriad of other lesser known strange furry entities] it ensures to be a weekend to remember with a Games night, art jams, a barbeque, Video night, a visit to the acclaimed Western Plains Zoo... and maybe a little karaoke >.> <.<.
The Dates are confirmed as the 20th [Friday] to the 22nd [Sunday] of February and a small goodie bag for every attendee. all that's left is to voice your interest, any inquiries can be sent via the signup page.
Last Years DiFFur
Last year's DIFFUR (22nd-24th Feb 2008) went down without a hitch, a good time was had by all, and the respective venues weren't destroyed, a win/win situation if you ask me.
After the friday night dinner at Jules' crepes and stakes (with the odd missing fur or two) the groups headed back to Fima's for a video night. The group adjourned to their accomodation.
The saturday brought some confusion and pandemonium as the different groups straggled to the Western Plains Zoo for a day of frolicking with the animals.
half way through the group found themselves at the Otter compound for feeding time and after a small art session they decided they were hungry and left the zoo.
There was much feasting at 20 bailey street, the group getting a chance to flop and learn more about one another, much in the vain of the day before, it was decided the furs would congregate at Fima's for more videos, after "fern gulley" they split up again and headed home.
The Sunday was the last day of the meet, the group said their farewells and headed back to Sydney.
It was a great time and i'd like to thank all who attended.
History
DIFFUR is an annual meet held for three days on the appropriate weekend in February and has been running for a year.
Cheap accomodation is available throughout the city, with the occasional free spot at Fima's house.
Transportation is shared by the attendants who drive, so please, help with gas money and don't tick them off.
Events Include; Movie nights, barbeques, art sessions, visting local tourist sites, the odd party, hanging out and general furry shenanigans. All enquiries should be addressed to Efimous via the signup page
